Introduction to SDGs/CE

Objectives of the module & Competences addressed

The main aim of implementing sustainability-related lessons primarily is to raise awareness about the SDGs and understand their importance. In this module, we are focusing on how circular economy actions can lead to sustainable behaviour.

For implementing a sustainability-based lesson you should prepare in advance visuals and handouts which can support learners in their learning process even after the classes. As sustainability is an interdisciplinary topic, these lessons can be used across all class subjects.

The training activities used within this Module are focused to enhance learners' competences to:

define key terms related to sustainability
list the 17 SDGs
understand SDGs and how they affect basic human rights and needs
explain the benefits of SDGs in general
explain causes of unsustainability in general
identify problems and opportunities in your community
propose appropriate solutions related to the SDGs and feel confident enough to know how to implement them
understand what circular economy
establish a connection between CE and sustainability
outline the key points regarding sustainability
summarize different perspectives on sustainability from CE perspective
identify CE concepts which can be used for implementing CE related SDGs
