- 100 Good Service - Learning Practices
It is a publication funded by the Spanish Ministry for ecological transition and demographic challenge in 2019 and available in Spanish here.
Service-learning is an educational proposal that combines learning processes and community service in a single well-articulated project. Participants are trained by getting involved in the real needs of the environment to improve it.
The publication 100 Good Service-Learning Practices collects experiences developed by 300 educational centres and 430 social entities (civic, cultural, youth associations, foundations, NGOs, city councils and public institutions) from Spain, linked to the Sustainable Development Goals.
These experiences, organized into four age groups (from 3 to 6 years old, from 6 to 12 years old, from 12 to 16 years old, and over 18 years old), are intended to guide and encourage the
undertaking of a Service-learning project in many other centres of Early Childhood Education, Primary, ESO, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and University, or to improve their practice for those who already have experience. In addition, service-learning
is an excellent tool to guide education and training towards the commitments assumed by the international community in the 2030 Agenda, linking the content of SL projects to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ultimately, service learning is helpful because it improves educational success and social cohesion.
The preparation of this inventory is an example of collaboration between the Spanish Service-Learning Network and the Unit for Social Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Values in Engineering (UESEVI), which is part of the general services of the High technical School of Mines and Energy Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSIME-UPM).

the 100 Good Service-Learning Practices are organised in 1-page resources, in different colours depending on the age group: 3-12, 12-16, 1 6-18 and 18+ and according to 4 key areas and one specific age group:

4. NetworkingEach practice has a methodological learning proposed for what concerns the methodological approach. For example, for practice 2, Rehabilitation of the Garlochí Park, the following methodologies are used: - Active and critical participation,
- civic commitment,
- knowledge and skills in cleaning, painting, masonry, and photography tasks.
